Brandenburg was established in 1947 and quickly grew to become one of the world leaders in the manufacture of high voltage power supplies which come from Brandenburg in both standard and custom built models.
Also established in 1947 Spellman is an American based company who go by the name of Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation they manufacture high voltage DC power supplies for X-Ray generators, CT scanners, mass spectrometry et cetera. Long lasting ferrofluid drive components from Valuvac are used in many areas of industry including in defence, medicine, electronics and in mechanical engineering.
Ferrofluids are used to form seals which encompass drive shafts in order to contain the liquid inside the hard disks. Magnets are used to house the rotating shaft and the liquid (ferrofluid) is held arrested in place by the magnetic force thus ensuring that no alien matter infiltrates the hard drive.

The diffusion pump was first brought into the general psyche in the engineering world by one Wolfgang Gaede in 1915, this was the very first kind of high vacuum pump which moved gas molecules; the gas was carried to the exhaust along with rather than diffusing against the vapour.
